Colombia Supremo: The King of Coffees

Colombia is the second largest producer of coffee in the world and is the largest producer of washed Arabica coffee. Well known for their high quality coffee, Colombia exports approximately 12.5 million bags annually, about half of which comes to the United States.

Colombia only produces washed Arabica coffee. There are three primary varieties grown in Colombia and the coffee is referred to by the region in which it is grown (Medellin, Manizales, Cali). There are also many smaller coffee producing regions in the country - we'll occasionally offer one of those coffees as a special selection - watch your email for details. Colombia produces an abundance of truly delicious and sought after coffee.

This particular coffee is Colombia Supremo - the largest size of Colombian coffee. Colombian coffee beans are harvested and sorted by size - Supremo beans are a screen size of 17 and 18 (the largest bean size). Just like other fruits, the biggest ones usually taste the best - the smaller and less dense (and less flavorful) beans and peaberries have been removed.

We roast our Colombia Supremo just past medium, to bring out the natural sweetness of the coffee. Some would call it a City Roast, others maybe a Full City Roast. We like to think of it as City+.

This is a reliably delicious all-day coffee.

We're currently roasting Supremo from Medellin, Colombia, one of Colombia's most productive coffee regions and one of their finest coffees. Medellin Supremo coffee is medium-to-full in body with a rich, sweet taste and complex acidity.

Colombia Supremo is a very well-balanced coffee, with a great room-filling aroma.

Everyone loves Colombian coffee - it's bright enough to enjoy in the morning and rich enough to enjoy in the evening.
